Vanilla Cake Donuts

It is February and Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Jewelery commercials are taking over TV and radio. Reese's came out with their heart shaped peanut butter cup. Going to a clothing store means getting bombarded with confusing piles of red and pink lace. Yep, it is February.

Need advice on what to get that someone special? Here it is:

Don't wait until the fourteenth when every other couple is celebrating. Make someone you love donuts on a random Tuesday night. Giving donuts says Hey- I am crazy about you. I love you enough to share my donuts with you. I have yet to find a card that expresses this sentiment.

Baked Vanilla Donuts with Amaretto Glaze
Stuff
1 c AP flour
6 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 c confectioners sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons Amaretto
3-4 tablespoons cream
1 drop red food coloring

How to:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together dry ingredients
2. Add milk, egg and vanilla, whisking until smooth
3. Pipe batter into a well-greased donut pan
4. Bake at 325 for 6-8 minutes
5. Make glaze: Whisk together confectioners sugar and Amaretto; add milk until desired consistency is achieved; add food dye if tinting
6. Dip cooled donuts into glaze and add sprinkles if desired
